Finance Expert reacts to Conference League news for LLDC and West Ham United
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive West Ham United columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium...
Dan Plumley has insisted that LLDC have been savvy to negotiate European bonuses into their London Stadium deal with West Ham United.
It has been reported that LLDC will not receive bonuses should the Irons lift the European Conference League, but would do for the other two competitions, should that happen.
The finance expert admitted that is likely a small part of why West Ham got such a good financial deal to play at the London Stadium, with partners always wanting a slice of the cut.
“I think it’s part of the reason why the deal is so good,” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“It would be quite savvy to put that in if that have got that clause in there then fair play to whoever put that in there as they have started to think of the potential for them to earn off the back of the agreement.

“It’s only unusual in the sense that the West Ham situation is unusual in terms of the stadium, but in terms of partners or sponsors wanting slices of the cut, that’s in there as a model to follow.
“In terms of the Conference League not being in there and the others are, I think that’s just down to the newness of the competition. It’s probably something that will now be common sense as every little helps.”
David Moyes will not care one bit about things like this.
All eyes are now on that Prague final next month with Fiorentina standing between the mighty West Ham United and a European trophy to add to the cabinet – bring it on.
