Finance Expert reacts to £40m+ Daniel Kretinsky news from West Ham United
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive West Ham United columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium...
Dan Plumley has insisted that there will be hopes that the rising wealth of Daniel Kretinsky will only help West Ham, despite the risks that come along with it.
Le Monde reported on 23 September that the Czech businessman had sold his shares in their company for £43.6million to Xavier Niel.
The finance expert admitted that Kretinsky clearly knows what to do from an investment position, and it will be seen whether or not that comes into the club.

“Obviously, you’ve got to play that through and look at whether any of that investment comes into the club or where it goes,” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“Certainly, if you’ve got a businessman that is, first of all very wealthy, and looks to be knowing his way around the industry with his other investments and making that work, if that’s his vision for the club and he wants to use some of that to invest, then everyone is pulling in that direction.
“There have been some really positive few years on the pitch for West Ham and some really good signings over the summer, it seems to be that things are going in the right direction.

“If you’ve got that coming from the ownership structure down, that’s a good place to be in. It seems to be, given some of the stuff we are seeing, that is the case, there is still the risk, but he is certainly very wealthy and knows what to do from an investment proposition.
“In theory, you’re hoping that will help the club.”
