Everything ideal for West Ham United as Bayer Leverkusen open to Odilon Kossounou transfer
Bayer Leverkusen defender Odilon Kossounou’s fitness record is something that bodes well for West Ham, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that he will need to adapt to the Premier League should he move to the London Stadium with the Hammers keen on securing his services.
This comes after Telegraph journalist Stefan Bienkowski reported on 10 June that the Bundesliga winners are willing to sell the 23-year-old Ivory Coast international this summer.
Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:
“Everything is ideal in terms of his fitness and that’s a huge positive for the club.
“The fact that there have been no injuries over the past season tells you that he’s someone who focuses a lot on his off-field routines as well.
“As he will be moving from a league that’s not as fast paced, the key will be allowing him to adapt methodically and gradually to the physical and mental demands of the Premier League.“
West Ham must seal the transfer of Odilon Kossounou
At 6’3″, he’s a dominant presence, yet agile and quick and will not look out of place in the Premier League.
He can play as a centre-back or a defensive midfielder, excelling in both roles.
Kossounou’s hard work and ambition make him a good fit for the Hammers’ style.

He’s a team player with a strong work ethic, always striving to improve and Julen Lopetegui could be ideal to get the best out of him.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to secure the free transfer of a player who’s set to leave a Premier League club this month.
