Doctor issues Kurt Zouma fitness update ahead of West Ham United v Bournemouth
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Ham...
West Ham defender Kurt Zouma appears to be back to 100 per cent after recovering from his knee injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that his training routine would have seen a methodical progression in terms of intensity as he returned to action.
He played 90 minutes in each of the three games against Bristol City twice and Sheffield United and with the game against Bournemouth next on 1 February, he will be available for that one.
Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:
“He felt something in the knee at the point of his initial injury and then missed the subsequent games after.
“His training routine would have been a methodical progression in intensity and then return to matches.
“However, he now seems to be back to full fitness, having played three games of 90 minutes each, with minimal risk of re-injury and will not be missing any further games.“
Zouma has been a mainstay in the heart of the Hammers defence this season and David Moyes will be delighted by his recovery.

The France international has made 17 Premier League appearances this term and has even scored a goal.
While Nayef Aguerd’s performances may have dipped, the 29-year-old has maintained a level of consistency and has captained the side as well.
