David Sullivan unmoved by West Ham fan protests as questions raised in £100m development

David Sullivan seemingly isn’t bothered by West Ham supporters voicing their opinions against him.

Sullivan is a controversial figure at West Ham and has been for many years, especially surrounding the move to the London Stadium.

This has seen the West Ham ownership from Sullivan, Karren Brady and Co. come under scrutiny, especially after such a poor start to the season.

As a result, fans staged protests against the board in E20 before West Ham lost 2-1 against Crystal Palace under Graham Potter.

This was done with the hope of Sullivan moving on, but it doesn’t appear that the chairman is impacted by the questioning from the Irons supporters.

David Sullivan learns to live with West Ham protests

Ian Abrahams shared footage of West Ham’s protests with fans holding up a banner reading, “sold our soul,” in response to the London Stadium move.

This has been a constant point of frustration for supporters, but arguably, success under David Moyes was able to paper over the cracks.

Now, the failings of Potter have highlighted just how poor the atmosphere surrounding the Olympic Park is, with fans now growing impatient with the ownership.

Regardless of this, former Irons midfielder Allen believes Sullivan will get used to the idea of protests and continue to deal with them in E20.

Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Allen said: “West Ham fans are entitled to their opinion.

They pay to watch West Ham play, and that’s the way it is, and anyone associated with football knows that.

After what has been a good few years, the team is not as good as it was despite spending over £100m. Supporters are asking questions about how they are now in a relegation battle.

The supporters are not happy, and they have the right to protest and let the owners know that.

What will come of it? I don’t exactly know, but it’s the way of the world, Sullivan will have to learn to live with that.

West Ham fans will continue protests

It is fair to say that supporters won’t care whether or not Sullivan is bothered by these protests.

At the end of the day, the fanbase wants to prove a point that the board can’t continue to get away with this level of mistakes.

This is especially the case because West Ham are regressing and fast, which is something that simply can’t go on if they want to avoid relegation.

A drop to the Championship would be hugely damaging, and unfortunately, Sullivan could be staring that new financial reality in the face if something doesn’t change.
