David Sullivan has ‘big money to spend’ at West Ham on Deadline Day

West Ham have big money available to spend on transfers ahead of the 11pm deadline, Dan Plumley has said.

David Sullivan has not backed away from big offers in the winter window, with £57million on the table at one stage for Jhon Duran (David Ornstein), who has now joined Al Nassr.

Plumley, a football finance expert, admitted that it proves money is available if Graham Potter wants it, with strong account numbers also backing that up.

“The numbers would stack that up,” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.

“If you look at the accounts and West Ham are one of the early clubs to file for 2024 and they made a near-enough £60million profit after tax and that’s following on from a profit in 2022 and a loss in 2023.

“They are in a good spot financially from what we can see, there’s certainly never been a question on PSR or anything like that.

I think looking at the numbers, it suggests they can spend and if you’re going out and bidding £57million for a striker, that would allude to the point that there is money there and available and the club are looking to be aggressive in the transfer market.”

Potter will be delighted for more signings before the close of play tonight, but a Premier League clash at Chelsea may get in the way of things.

Evan Ferguson looks set to arrive on loan from Brighton with a medical done (Fabrizio Romano), but there could be more with James Ward-Prowse returning from Nottingham Forest too.
