‘Angel Gomes to snub Tottenham to sign on dotted line at West Ham’
Angel Gomes could be on the verge of a free transfer switch to West Ham as his Lille contract comes to an end.
The 24-year-old has been strongly linked with an exit from the Ligue 1 side after four positive seasons since signing from Manchester United.
With that being said, there has been no confirmation on his future to this point, with Graham Potter’s side in the race to bring the midfielder to East London.
Now it appears that the Hammers have taken a step closer to landing the England international ahead of a busy summer of ins and outs at the London Stadium.

West Ham to beat Tottenham to Gomes signing
The Irons are in desperate need of a revamp to help build towards the vision of the English head coach, months into his reign in the dugout.
This looks set to kickstart in the summer with a raft of changes to the midfield, including the loan expiry of Carlos Soler and the potential sale of Guido Rodriguez after just one season.
With Tomas Soucek also strongly linked with an exit, there is bound to be a number of midfield options being targeted.
It appears that Gomes is one of the main stars wanted by Potter, with the England international available for free after his Lille exit is confirmed.
Tottenham have also expressed a strong interest in the midfielder, but former Hammers man Martin Allen believes West Ham are at the front of the line to sign the Englishman.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Allen said: “He’s a player that Graham Potter would love for the middle of the pitch.
“He changes play, keeps the ball moving, and he’s very comfortable in possession. He won’t score many goals, but as a catalyst in the middle of the West Ham team, he typifies how Potter wants to play football.
“I would imagine that will be a high-priority deal on a free transfer to get someone like him to become the engine of the team.
“I can’t imagine he’d go to Tottenham with all their midfield players, he’d be the main man at West Ham, so I can’t see him signing for anyone else but West Ham.“

Gomes could shine at West Ham
With all the uncertainty surrounding Ange Postecoglou right now, a move to North London could prove to be a sizable risk for the Ligue 1 ace.
This could allow Potter to step in and sign Gomes to help begin what should be a busy transfer window for the former Chelsea head coach.

Alongside Kyle Macaulay, there will be a lengthy shortlist of potential signings in E20, but it appears that the ex-Boavista man is near the top of that list.
This could see Lille man link up with fellow England international Jarrod Bowen at the London Stadium in the hope of a much more positive campaign for the claret and blue outfit.
