Aaron Wan-Bissaka to replace Vladimir Coufal after new West Ham United transfer
Frank McAvennie wants Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka to replace Vladimir Coufal in the West Ham starting XI.
According to iNews [18 July], the Hammers are preparing a £15million bid for the 26-year-old full-back, with Manchester United open to his exit this summer [StrettyNews].
While Wan-Bissaka could serve as a replacement for Ben Johnson, McAvennie would rather see the Englishman take Coufal’s spot, who has been linked with a move to Galatasaray [Mehmet Ozcan].
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, he said: “He’s in a bad team but he’s still been doing alright for Manchester United. He hasn’t really had any help from anyone when defending and has had to look after himself.
“Wan-Bissaka looks like he’s got enthusiasm for the game – I like him. A move to London would give him a new lease of life. It would be great because the move would push Coufal along, and he’s able to play left-back too.
“Bring Wan-Bissaka in and give him the spot over Coufal. He can play a few different positions, so I’d sign him.”
West Ham United to replace Vladimir Coufal with Aaron Wan-Bissaka?
Coufal was a favourite under David Moyes’ leadership, starting 36 of the Irons’ 38 Premier League matches last campaign and boasting 155 total appearances for the club.
However, the 31-year-old’s stay at the London Stadium has not always been smooth sailing, with the player unhappy with not being offered improved terms when the Hammers triggered a one-year extension [The Athletic].

Wan-Bissaka, on the other hand, could be on his way to the London Stadium after 190 appearances for the Red Devils. His journey at Old Trafford has also been mixed and he now looks set to exit.
If that is the case this summer, the Irons have been urged to pay the £15million for the right-back and throw him straight into Julen Lopetegui’s starting XI.
