West Ham United: David Moyes must hook Kalvin Phillips at half-time if he wants win v Burnley
West Ham United are finally going well in the Premier League once more after their disastrous start to 2024.
David Moyes’s side really struggled at the beginning of the year, but have now won their last two league matches.
They came via 4-2 and 3-1 victories against Brentford and Everton, with Burnley now standing in their way of three on the bounce.
The two clubs are going head to head at the London Stadium on Sunday (10 March), with the home manager making changes to his team given how they only just took on SC Freiburg in Europa League action on Thursday (7 March).
One player who was dropped to the bench against the Clarets was midfield ace Edson Alvarez, which was perhaps unsurprising given how he was one of the men to have played the entire 90 minutes in Germany.
And his absence was certainly felt in the opening 45 minutes at the London Stadium, with the hosts conceding to David Datro Fofana after just 11 minutes, with a Konstantinos Mavropanos own goal given the visitors a shock 2-0 lead at half-time.
David Moyes needs to axe Kalvin Phillips in West Ham versus Burnley
January recruit Kalvin Phillips instead got the nod from Moyes in midfield alongside Tomas Soucek, but the man in the dugout simply has to swap out the former for Alvarez at the break.
The Manchester City loanee is still off the pace, with his move to East London really not working out for both the player and the club.

Admittedly it was an unstoppable strike from the Burnley attacker, but perhaps things could have been different had summer signing Alvarez been in midfield from the start.
In other West Ham news, Moyes and Tim Steidten must agree on a deal for one star man as £45million transfer news emerges.
