West Ham United player ratings v Tottenham: Michail Antonio in 2/10 shocker, star man gets 7/10
West Ham played out a 1-1 draw against Tottenham in Tuesday’s (2 April) Premier League contest at London Stadium.
Brennan Johnson put Tottenham ahead inside five minutes, but Kurt Zuma responded for the Irons with a header before half-time.
Both teams wasted chances to win the game in a lively second half as the points were shared in the London derby.

Kurt Zouma named Man of the Match for West Ham v Tottenham
Lukasz Fabianski – 6/10
Brought into the side for the injured Alphonse Areola and performed well. Had four saves to make and, while none of those were out of the ordinary, he did exactly what was required.
Vladimir Coufal – 6/10
Produced some important defensive headers and improved as the game went on. Was involved in a penalty scare late on but the referee was right not to point to the spot.
Konstantinos Mavropanos – 6/10
Had an effort well saved by Guglielmo Vicario and deserves credit for the defensive side of his game, having kept Tottenham’s attackers quiet for large parts of the contest. Will be disappointed with the manner of Spurs’ opener, though.
Kurt Zouma – 7/10
West Ham’s best player on a day in which not many individuals particularly stood out. Scored the equaliser after getting in front of his man, while defensively he registered a whopping eight clearances. For context, no other home player registered more than two.
Emerson Palmieri – 6/10
Not easy up against Johnson, but he showed positives aspects both defensively and offensively. The 56 touches he managed was bettered only by Mohammed Kudus (63), showing he was certainly heavily involved out wide.
Jarrod Bowen – 6/10
Had an off-day in terms of his finishing, with an early chance in particular going begging. However, he was still lively in the final third and created three big chances, none of which were put away.
Michail Antonio struggles against Tottenham
Lucas Paqueta – 5/10
Was wayward with a couple of efforts and not at his creative best. It is worth mentioning that he put in a brilliant defensive shift, though, which can sometimes go under the radar.
Tomas Soucek – 5/10
West Ham were badly overrun in central midfield for a lot of the game, particularly for Tottenham’s opener. While that is also partly down to the tactics, he needs to do more to get closer to his direct opponent.
James Ward-Prowse – 6/10
Likewise, Ward-Prowse often lets players get past him too easily – something Joe Cole picked up on – which is not ideal given his position. Made up for that with two key passes, but it is now just one direct goal involvement in 11 matches.
Mohammed Kudus – 7/10
Tried to make something happen but just did not fall for him. Kudus’ five successful dribbles – four more than anyone else – shows just how difficult he is to mark. Was also fouled a game-high three times as Spurs tried to do a job on him.
Michail Antonio – 2/10
Missed a glorious opportunity with around an hour played to put Tottenham ahead, which Paul Merson described as a “bad, bad” miss. Barely even knew he was on the pitch in the first half and, while he did grow into it, his poor finishing let him down.
