West Ham must sign Amine Gouiri after viral clip emerges online

It is no secret that West Ham United have been lacking a spark in their attacking play recently despite beating Wolves 1-0 at the weekend.

The free-flowing football has rather escaped from the London Stadium and supporters are starting to worry that they might fall away from the race for Champions League football.

The fast-approaching return of the Europa League won’t help their bid for Premier League success through the sheer volume of games to be played either although it does offer another way into the big time.

For David Moyes to find that spark, he may need to look elsewhere for a signing and that player may have landed right at his feet.

OGC Nice attacker Amine Gouiri is enjoying a fantastic season in Ligue 1 with 10 goals and seven assists this season and the Irons are keen on signing him this summer [Calciomercato].

But it isn’t the stats Moyes will be purring at, rather this clip of his amazing close control that was posted on Twitter by user AxSeru.

The Frenchman spins away from three defenders, leaving them all over the place as he bore down on goal in Nice’s latest game against Versailles in the Coupe De France.

Everyone seems to look at the numbers these days and they are vitally important to scouts when they are searching the globe for new talent.

But it has become forgotten how the enigma on the ball can be so deadly to opposition teams even if they don’t get the numbers to back it up.

Luckily for Gouiri, he has both the stats and the swagger to make him one of Europe’s most in-form players and the Hammers should go all out to secure his services next season.

In other West Ham news, they are among six Premier League clubs chasing a deal to sign this starlet from the EFL in the summer.
