Tomas Soucek and Ben Johnson axed – Predicted West Ham United XI v Arsenal

David Moyes could be set to make some changes to his West Ham United starting lineup for their Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday.

The Hammers were well beaten by Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend, while the Gunners claimed a huge win over Liverpool to keep their title hopes alive.

But Moyes must now look to find a way to claim victory against a top side, meaning he is likely to change his starting team in order to freshen things up and get a result.

Alphonse Areola was taken off at half-time as a precaution against Man United but is expected to be available and the French stopper should start in goal once again.

Vladimir Coufal came back in after suspension while Nayef Aguerd started after his return from AFCON and both should continue in the team alongside Kurt Zouma and Emerson for an unchanged back four.

Kalvin Phillips to start for West Ham after ‘Fuming’ last week

In midfield, Edson Alvarez remains a key player defensively for Moyes and he should keep his place in the side against an in-form Arsenal side, but Tomas Soucek could be the one to drop out for the Hammers to allow Kalvin Phillips to come back into the side after he was dropped last week.

Ahead of them James Ward-Prowse may get a bit more freedom playing in a more advanced role, with set-pieces likely to be a big part of the game plan at the London Stadium.

Mohammed Kudus has made one of the attacking roles his own since arriving from Ajax in the summer and he should start on the right-wing in this game, while Jarrod Bowen is likely to continue as the first-choice striker despite Danny Ings being available.

That should allow for Ivorian winger Maxwel Cornet to start on the left after a goal in his last start before being inexplicably dropped from the team again, with the club being open to his exit in January, with his pace a good weapon on the counter-attack.

In other West Ham news, senior ace must be sold in the summer after another embarrassing appearance.
