Mohammed Kudus could now push for West Ham United exit after new Liverpool development

West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus doesn’t appear to be going anywhere during the summer transfer window.

The winger may have only arrived at the London Stadium a year ago, but he has already caught the eye of teams in the Premier League and beyond with his exciting, attacking style and eye for the spectacular.

Liverpool were one of the sides reportedly interested in Kudus this summer, alongside Manchester City, Al-Nassr and Al’Ahil [Caught Offside, 28 June].

While clubs appear to be queuing up to try and secure the Ghana international’s signature, the Irons are confident that they will be able to keep him next year, even when his £85million release clause comes back into play [Fabrizio Romano, 3 July].

The 23-year-old doesn’t appear to be in a rush to leave himself as he has admitted his focus during the off-season has been directed to the beginning of the new campaign with the Irons [The Athletic, 4 July].

However, the winger may now be more interested in a potential future move to Anfield after the Red announced the appointment of John Heitinga as part of Arne Slot’s coaching staff, who Kudus worked with at Ajax.

As quoted by Voetbal Primeur (17 July) Kudus said: “I felt very good under Heitinga. He is the best trainer I have had at Ajax.

“Apart from the training aspect, I also have a very high regard for him in terms of standards and values. Personally, I would have loved to work with him longer.”

Would Mohammed Kudus exit West Ham United and transfer to Liverpool?

While West Ham remain unlikely to allow Kudus to make the move to Liverpool either this summer or next, the move may have just become a bit more appealing for the Ghana International with this appointment.

The opportunity to not only play at the top of the Premier League but also for one of his favourite coaches may be too tough for the 23-year-old to turn down if the offer arises.

Hopefully, Liverpool will have lost interest in the Hammers gem by the time his release clause is active again, otherwise, the Irons could have a battle on their hands to stop Kudus’ head being turned.
