Julen Lopetegui might change Danny Ings stance after what West Ham United ace did v Fulham

West Ham United have struggled at the start of the Premier League season with new signings galore not helping things right now at the London Stadium.

It was the same again in the 1-1 draw against Fulham on 14 September, with Max Kilman and Guido Rodriguez the only new transfers to start the game for Julen Lopetegui.

One player who managed to retain his spot in Lopetegui’s squad was Danny Ings and, after he scored the equaliser for West Ham against Fulham in the dying embers of the game, the Spaniard might have to change his stance on the attacker.

Throughout the entirety of the summer window, Ings was trying to be offloaded by his club so that they could free up some much-needed funding in their wage budget.

Despite months of trying, however, Ings managed to stay put and is fighting for the number nine role against the likes of Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug.

While the latter is currently sidelined due to an injury, Antonio has seemed to be Lopetegui’s preferred choice despite his poor form.

The Jamaica international was replaced at half time for Crysencio Summerville but after nothing was being created, Ings was brought on to try and salvage something from the game.

Although he was only on the pitch from the 82nd minute, he had one of the biggest impacts on the game and managed to fire home for a draw from an otherwise poor West Ham performance.

Following his goal, however, it could make sense for Lopetegui to entrust the former Southampton man to lead his line until Fullkrug is back to full fitness to try something new in terms of tactics and perhaps improve the Hammers’ luck.
