Coufal dropped, Johnson to start - Predicted West Ham XI v Everton
West Ham went into the international break on the worst possible note with a home defeat against Brentford.
The game was expected to be a gimme given the Bees are newly promoted and still finding their feet in the Premier League.
However, the Hammers disappointed in front of their home fans and will be looking to right all wrongs this Sunday when they take on Everton.
Despite conceding two last gameweek, Lukasz Fabianski is expected to retain his spot in the starting eleven.
New signing Alphonse Areola may have to contend playing in the cup and maybe the European games.
At right-back is where West Ham are likely to see their first change. Vladimir Coufal has been omnipresent, but an injury before the international break saw him miss his side’s qualifiers over the past few days.
Ryan Fredericks himself picked up an injury against Manchester United so he may not be back in time for the weekend’s fixture.
The lack of his top two right-backs could see David Moyes turning to Ben Johnson to hand him his first Premier League start of the season.
The rest of the defence is likely to remain unchanged with Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell starting.
Moyes also will not be too keen on upsetting the apple cart so Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek will start and so will Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma.
However, we see Manuel Lanzini coming in for Pablo Fornals. The Spaniard was out on international duty, will be fatigued and could be brought off the bench in the second half should the Hammers not be in the lead.
There’s no replacing Michail Antonio who is in red hot form for the Hammers.
