West Ham sent ‘explosive’ email by Man City as Premier League drama escalates
Manchester City sent an email to West Ham and every other Premier League club to complain about a report sent out about them by Richard Masters, according to The Times.
The champions are in a legal battle against the league organisers as a tribunal concluded elements of the rules concerning Associated Party Transactions (APT), were “unlawful”.
After this ruling, the Citizens sent out an “explosive” email to the other 19 teams, including the Hammers, to warn them that a 175-page report sent out by Masters contained “inaccuracies” and was “misleading”.
This has escalated the drama surrounding the Premier League with “all the big hitters” expected to attend a meeting where the chief executive “is likely to face some difficult questions”.
West Ham dragged into Manchester City case v Premier League
The issue surrounds City’s sponsorship with Etihad Airways having links to their owners which leads to a conflict of interest.
The Premier League are frustrated with the champions’ use of these transactions which have ultimately helped them become the best team in the country.
It is safe to say that this hasn’t gone down well with the blue side of Manchester and has resulted in a full-blown battle against Masters and the league’s organisers.
This is a situation that the Hammers should look to steer clear of given that they have no true need to get involved.
Tim Steidten has just had a summer of positive spending with the likes of Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville and Niclas Fullkrug coming in.

The last thing that the Irons need is to be slapped with any financial punishments which the league could look to hand out.
It is unclear how this situation with Man City could end but David Sulivan would be best off staying away from speaking up in this case if the ex-treble winners look for support.
