Only at West Ham as mystery cleared up after resignation of two directors
West Ham’s current state is down to the destruction that David Sullivan, Karren Brady and the rest of the board of directors have caused.
Nuno Espirito Santo is trying to keep West Ham up, with the Hammers still sitting unconvincingly in the Premier League’s relegation zone.
There have been protests at the London Stadium this season, with supporters rightly fed up with how the club is being run from top to bottom, regardless of whose in charge of the team.
Sullivan is spending money in the January transfer window to try aid Nuno’s push for survival, but it could be too little too late.
West Ham’s boardroom is where the problems start, and yet another episode has been added to the series of embarrassments involving the higher-ups at E20.

David Sullivan Jr and Jiri Svarc situation explained
Asif Sullivan wasn’t bad enough, he has a son who is involved in the comical decision-making for the Irons.
David Sullivan Jr is on West Ham’s board of directors alongside Jiri Svarc, who was appointed by Daniel Kretinsky in 2022.
- David Sullivan Jr and Jiri Svarc’s deals were terminated on 19 January
- Companies House then revealed they were both re-appointed the following day
As highlighted by West Ham Football on X, following Companies House’s update that Sullivan Jr and Svarc had been reinstated at West Ham, there’s been an update on their initial resignation.
The reason for this happening was due to Sullivan Jr’s middle name’s being in the wrong order, while Svarc’s birth month was also incorrect.
How does this even happen? Apparently, it’s quicker to terminate and reappoint individuals on Companies House than amend the records online.
How about just getting things right in the first place? It’s something that doesn’t actually come as too much of a surprise, considering the incompetence of those running the circus above.
West Ham is truly the only club where something like this could happen, and all fans can do at this point is laugh.
Sullivan makes another mistake as transfer confirmed
West Ham announced the signing of Keiber Lamadrid on Thursday, with the young Venezuelan coming to the London Stadium at a time when Nuno needs reinforcements.
But Nuno has essentially already ruled Lamadrid out from having an impact for the rest of the Hammers’ season, which raises the question of why so much time was spent on securing the transfer.
Perhaps the only saving grace in the deal is that it cost the Hammers £1million. It comes off as a signing with the Championship in mind.
However, the silver lining with relegation would be that there’s a chance Sullivan and Brady would resign, and the Irons could finally be released from their shackles.
