West Ham United co-owner Daniel Kretinsky is set to have a meeting with the Communication Workers Union next week with a view to taking over the Royal Mail in a deal worth £5bn, according to BBC News.
The board of the company which currently owns the organisation is expected to recommend the takeover in the coming days.
The Czech billionaire who owns the Hammers is looking to “firm up” an offer of £5bn ahead of a meeting with the union next week.
They will ask for “a complete reset in employee and industrial relations” after “deteriorating” performance and financial losses for the company.

The union will meet with Mr Kretinsy’s EP Group next week, calling for a “complete reset” in employee and industrial relations, as well as further commitments on the future of the company.
