Daniel Kretinsky full takeover at West Ham United evaluated amid £3.5bn development

A full takeover of West Ham United is “low” on Daniel Kretisnky’s list of priorities, according to the Daily Mail.

The report on 16 May revealed that associates close to the Czech billionaire have insisted that he is not planning to make a bid for the Hammers – but did not rule anything out definitively.

Kretinsky, 48, already has his hands full with one takeover and is closing in on a reported £3.5billion acquisition of the Royal Mail.

West Ham United will settle for a new manager instead of a new owner

With head coach David Moyes set to step down at the end of the season, it would have been quite the development if owner David Sullivan was bought out by Kretinsky in the same summer.

As it is, with Julen Lopetegui’s arrival at the London Stadium expected ahead of next term, one significant change in leader should suffice.

The Spaniard’s appointment heralds the beginning of what the Hammers will hope is an evolution towards a new style of play, marrying the successful foundations of Moyes’ era with more expansive, entertaining football.

Whether or not Lopetegui can deliver on those fronts remains to be seen, but what he is likely to bring is control and a greater comfort in possession. That is a step in the right direction, if nothing else.

As for the takeover situation, some fans may not be entirely over the moon with the current set-up, but it is not exactly a massive priority at this moment in time.

It is claimed in the Daily Mail report that Kretinsky has been spotted six times at London Stadium in a sign that he is clearly a very, very busy man.

For now, his time is better suited elsewhere as he himself has bigger matters on his hands.
