Doctor issues Michail Antonio injury news ahead of West Ham United v Wolves
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Ham...
West Ham striker Michail Antonio has suffered a Grade 2 hamstring and may not be ready against Wolves, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has reacted to initial reports that the Jamaica international may be ruled out for several months.
However, that does not seem to be the case and while he’s aiming to return on Sunday, 17 December, he may not be available.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:
“Antonio has been suffering from a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury.
“It sounds like the initial timeline was simply based on a best and worst-case scenario rather than anything credible.
“This recent timeline sounds like it’s actually based on how he’s responding to rehab and makes it seem like a Grade 2 tear and may not return this weekend.“

The Hammers have used other options in attack in the absence of the 33-year-old over the past few games.
Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, Divin Mubama and Danny Ings have been the options available to David Moyes.
Despite Antonio’s imminent return, it remains to be seen if West Ham look to sign a new striker in the January transfer window.
In other West Ham news, the highest source at the Hammers has issued an update on a 2023 award winner to replace David Moyes as sack news emerges.
