West Ham United to announce new transfer in days after Luis Guilherme update
West Ham are just days away from completing the £25.5million transfer of Palmeiras winger Luis Guilherme, according to GE Globo.
The Brazilian outlet reported that Palmeiras had agreed to sell their 18-year-old starlet to the London club, and will receive a fixed fee of £19.5million with an additional £6million in potential add-ons.
Guilherme came through Palmeiras’ youth systems and has made 45 first-team appearances since his debut in 2023, but now looks set to head to the Premier League with Julen Lopetegui.
Will Luis Guilherme make an impact at West Ham United?
Committing a fee potentially as high as £25.5million to an 18-year-old winger with just one career goal to his name represents a gamble for the Irons, but one they’ll be hoping will pay off next season.
The transfer initially appeared to be in doubt with Palmeiras not budging on their ‘no sale’ position, but talks with the Hammers’ sporting director Tim Steidten, who is in Brazil, seem to have turned their heads.
Guilherme will arrive at the London Stadium well down the pecking order though, with Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen having been preferred on the flanks.

However, the FA’s potential ban of Lucas Paqueta could see either Bowen or Kudus – the Hammers’ two stars last season – move into the number 10 role under Lopetegui, opening up a spot out wide.
That’s an opportunity Guilherme will be hoping to grasp with both hands once he joins up with the squad in the coming weeks and establish himself as a fixture in a new-look squad going into the campaign.
Lopetegui is looking to youth as he shapes his inaugural West Ham squad, and if Guilherme becomes his first new signing at the London Stadium, it represents a solid start.
In other West Ham news, the club have opened talks with the reps of a “breathtaking” star.
