West Ham United supporters will be in agreement after James Corden’s latest comments on Jarrod Bowen.

The winger has been an integral figure for the Hammers since arriving from Hull City in 2020.

Having taken the captain’s armband in recent years, Bowen has been talismanic for the Irons during their European success and remains their go-to man in the current relegation battle.

However, the East London club’s Premier League future remains in doubt, as they sit 18th in the division with two matches to go.

As a result, the skipper’s future is also uncertain, and Corden has now come up with what some may see as the ideal solution involving Bowen.

It has been a slightly underwhelming season for West Ham’s talisman, though that could be said for many at the London Stadium. Bowen, however, has still continued to deliver in the final third.

With the Hammers’ top-flight future in danger, it is only natural that a player of his ability will attract attention.

Reacting to the ongoing situation, TV star and Irons supporter Corden told talkSPORT: “If I were Jarrod, if Liverpool come in for him or Man United come in for him, he absolutely should go.

“And he should go with every West Ham fan’s blessing because that opportunity to play in the Champions League is something that Bowen, I think, cannot give up.”

However, Corden has a solution in mind for David Sullivan if a move to one of England’s giants does not arise.

“If I were Bowen, I’d say to the owners, I’ll take the pay cut, which I think is 40 per cent, something like that,” he said.

“I’ll take the pay cut, and I’ll stay, then if we come back up, you give it all to me on the day we go up, and I want a new contract.”

With two matches to go against Newcastle and Leeds, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are in desperate need of points as they look to climb out of the drop zone.

Bowen sits among the best to do it for West Ham

Since arriving in 2020, the winger has grown into one of the most important and popular figures at the London Stadium.

Now among the Premier League’s most recognisable names, Bowen has become a talisman for West Ham and secured his place among the club’s modern greats.

With 84 goals and 62 assists, his fee of about £20million now looks a bargain.

He also delivered what may be the biggest goal in the club’s history, sealing the 2023 Conference League title.

If the worst happens and Nuno’s side go down, Bowen would leave with his status as a club icon intact.

For now, though, the captain still has a major job to do in the closing weeks of the season, and there would be no more fitting figure to lead the Hammers to safety.
