Jarrod Bowen exit update emerges with West Ham United in deep relegation trouble

Jarrod Bowen‘s future could well hinge on whether West Ham United avoid the drop from the Premier League.

West Ham slipped into the relegation zone last weekend as their 3-0 loss at Brentford was followed by Tottenham’s 2-1 win at Aston Villa.

The Hammers are one point from safety with three games to play, the first of those being at home to league leaders Arsenal next weekend.

Bowen has started all 35 of West Ham’s top-flight games this term, but he has not been at his best in many of those games.

As the summer transfer window draws nearer, a fresh update has now emerged on the Hammers skipper’s future.

Jarrod Bowen won’t push for exit if West Ham stay up

While Bowen has not been at his absolute best, he has still arguably been the Hammers’ best performer over the course of the entire campaign.

That is backed up by his attacking figures of eight goals and 10 assists, with Bowen two assists short of making West Ham history for the most by one player at the club in the competition.

There will inevitably be interest in Bowen regardless of whether West Ham stay up or go down, but even more so if the worst-case scenario does come true.

As per a new report by Alex Crook for talkSPORT, “sources have indicated” Bowen will not push for a move away should United stay in the division.

However, Bowen will attract plenty of interest if West Ham are a Championship club in a few weeks’ time, with Liverpool and Newcastle United just two of the teams interested.

Bowen has long been linked with a move to Anfield, while Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is said to be a long-time admirer.

Bowen exit would leave void bigger than anyone can imagine

Bowen leaving West Ham would be seismic. Not only would the Irons be losing all those goal involvements, they would also be saying goodbye to their leader.

While some have questioned the England international’s leadership ability, he is undoubtedly someone with West Ham close to his heart.

Once described as “unbelievable” by former teammate Declan Rice, the 29-year-old will be one of the most in-demand players around this summer.

The ideal scenario for West Ham, of course, is that they stay up and Bowen goes nowhere.

But both of those things happening does seem a big ask right now.
