West Ham’s final day record from last 10 seasons paints uncertain Leeds picture
West Ham United have a mixed final day record in the Premier League over the last decade.
Nothing quite beats the nerves and excitement that comes with the final day of the season.
For West Ham in 2025-26, the overriding emotion will certainly be of the former, as Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side stare down the barrel of Premier League relegation.
Tottenham sit two points above the Hammers going into matchday 38, as Roberto De Zerbi’s men host Everton knowing a point would surely be enough regardless of West Ham’s result.
Ahead of the final day of the season, West Ham Zone looks back on the Irons’ record in their last game since the 2015-16 season.

What is West Ham’s final day record since 2015-16 season?
West Ham have a strong recent record against Leeds, and with Daniel Farke’s team already comfortably safe, the impetus is on the Hammers to set the tempo.
No wins in their last three is not the sort of form Nuno’s side will have wanted to enter the final day in, but in this relegation shootout between them and Spurs, form may well go out of the window.

Indeed, this Sunday may be all about who handles the pressure better than the other, but it does no harm to look back through the history books for any potential omens too.
What they tell us, however, paints a picture of West Ham enjoying mixed final day fortunes over the last decade.
Since the 2015-16 season, the Hammers have won five, lost four and drawn one of their final day league outings.
They were able to win on the final day last season, beating Ipswich Town 3-1, but they did lose by that same scoreline to Man City in 2023-24.

In fact, from 2021-22 to 2023-24, the Hammers have lost each of their three matches on the last game of those respective campaigns, so recently, they have largely not fared well.
Aside from last season, the most recent Irons final day victory came in the 2020-21 campaign, which saw them defeat Southampton by three goals to nil.
The formation Nuno should play against Leeds
Three at the back hasn’t been working for West Ham in recent games, with the most recent defeat to Newcastle being a frustrating testament to that.
Nuno’s men have to win on Sunday, and so now is the time to throw any lingering caution to the wind, and for the 52-year-old to set his side up in a way that leans into their strongest department: attack.
Jarrod Bowen on the right, Crysencio Summerville on the left and Taty Castellanos through the centre in a 4-3-3 would be a serious problem for the Leeds defence.
Farke is deploying Dan James as a makeshift right wing-back at the moment, and so moving Bowen out of attacking midfield and squaring him up against the Welshman looks a golden opportunity that Nuno has to recognise.
