West Ham have 14-year league history as reason for Leeds United confidence

West Ham United have largely had Leeds United’s number in league football over the last 14 years.

The 2025-26 campaign comes to a close on Sunday, as West Ham welcome Leeds to the London Stadium in a 4pm kick-off.

Daniel Farke’s Whites have been able to steer themselves comfortably clear of the relegation zone in recent weeks, as they continue to bask in an eight-game unbeaten run in the top flight.

As for Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side, they will be looking to end what has been a hugely disappointing season having snapped a three-game losing run.

Leeds will be a tough test for the Hammers, but the history books are firmly in the Irons’ favour ahead of this final day clash.

What is West Ham’s record against Leeds?

Revenge will be in the East London air this Sunday, as Leeds beat the Hammers in the FA Cup quarter-final back in early April the last time these two teams met.

That was a cup clash for the ages that had just about everything, except, of course, an Irons penalty shootout win.

Since then, Nuno’s men have gone on a real mixed bag of form, but in front of one final home crowd of the 2025-26 season, they will be expected to do the business against the Elland Road outfit.

Indeed, that’s what they’ve typically been able to do in recent years, as Leeds have only beaten West Ham twice in the League since 2011.

During that time, the two sides have met on no less than nine separate occasions in league football, with the Hammers winning four and drawing three, with Leeds taking the other two games respectively.

What is Leeds’ away record like this season?

There aren’t many tougher places to go and play as an opposition team in the Premier League than Elland Road, with the Leeds faithful making their historic home one of the most atmospheric in English football.

Thankfully then, West Ham don’t have to travel up to West Yorkshire on Sunday, with the Whites instead coming down to the London Stadium.

Farke’s side haven’t been good travellers this season either, winning just two of their 18 away games in the Premier League this term, drawing nine and losing the other seven respectively.

In total, they’ve taken just the 15 points on their travels in 2025-26 compared to 32 on home soil, whilst West Ham have claimed 19 points at home as opposed to 17 on the road.
