How have West Ham’s relegation chances shifted?

West Ham were still in the driving seat after their 3-0 defeat to Brentford, but the picture has now completely changed.

Nuno’s side now have a 76.77 per cent chance of relegation, which has risen massively from 48.84 per cent after that game.

They are now predicted to finish 18th with an expected points total of 39.18, and Roberto De Zerbi’s side expected to finish on 41.06.

Why West Ham fans should be very fearful

The E20 outfit have it all do, and it will not be an easy task to stay in the division.

They host an Arsenal side that are hunting for the title, before travelling to Newcastle, who are trying to end the season strong before a final-day clash with Leeds at the London Stadium.

The latter may be an easy fixture, as the Whites may well be safe by then, but the other two are very hard, and it may be over before that game.

The East London side need a favour from Daniel Farke, as they face Spurs next, and they will also want help from Chelsea and Everton, if they are to maintain their top-flight status.

It is a very worrying time to support the Hammers, especially given how likely they seem to drop down to the second tier, unless there is another twist in the coming weeks.

Relegation would be a disaster, but it seems like the increasingly obvious conclusion to the campaign at the moment.
