Callum Wilson sends four-word message after West Ham heroics vs Everton

Callum Wilson scored West Ham United‘s most important goal of the season so far against Everton on Saturday, and he’s taken to social media to celebrate it.

The veteran striker came off the bench with a little under 10 minutes to play against Everton, and that turned out to be a masterful decision by Nuno Espirito Santo.

Having taken the lead through Tomas Soucek on 51 minutes, the Toffees looked to have broken Hammers hearts when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall thumped home the equaliser with 88 minutes on the clock.

With Tottenham winning at Wolves too, that was enough to drop United back into the bottom three, or it was until Wilson popped up in added time.

His stoppage-time finish saw West Ham beat Everton 2-1, ensuring they matched Spurs’ result and retained their two-point advantage over the Lilywhites with just four games to go.

What did Callum Wilson say after West Ham win vs Everton?

Wilson has a strong goal record against Everton, having entered Saturday’s game with eight goals against the Merseysiders from his last seven outings against them.

As such, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see the 34-year-old being the man of the moment at the London Stadium, as his up and down season with the Hammers continues.

From looking set to see his contract terminated during the winter transfer window to now scoring West Ham’s most important goal of the season, that January contract drama now looks to be a major watershed moment in the Hammers’ campaign.

The magnitude of that Everton winner was felt all the way to Molineux on Saturday afternoon, and taking to his Instagram account in the aftermath of the victory, Wilson sent a rousing message to the Hammers faithful.

“Till the end Hammers,” Wilson wrote, summing up the fighting spirit being shown by Nuno’s side in recent weeks, as they extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to three games.

Wilson is scoring some crucial goals for West Ham

That’s now six Premier League goals in 2025-26 for Wilson now, and whilst that’s not many, the majority of them have been vital.

Indeed, it was he who popped up with the 93rd-minute winner away at Tottenham back on 17 January, which those three points over Spurs is what’s currently keeping the Hammers above them in the table.

It was his brace against Bournemouth on 22 November that earned West Ham a 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium, and he also netted the first of United’s three goals in the 3-2 victory over Burnley on 8 November.

His other strike rounded off a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on 31 August last year, and so he may have been a bit part player this term, but make no mistake, he and his goals have been worth their weight in West Ham gold.
