What's next for West Ham United as Troy Parrott agrees to transfer

West Ham United are still pushing hard to sign AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott.

The Republic of Ireland striker, who has 37 caps to his name, is on the Hammers' radar as they look to bolster their attack.

Nuno Espirito Santo has seen the likes of Mateus Fernandes, Crysencio Summerville, and Freddie Potts depart this close season.

So far, only Joel Veltman has been signed as a new arrival, though Manor Solomon is set to join West Ham from Tottenham.

Parrott, 24, previously played for Tottenham too and is seemingly keen on a return to London.

And a new report suggests the move could be on, but there are hurdles still to clear before it can happen.

What's the latest with Troy Parrott and West Ham?

Parrott scored 16 Eredivisie goals in 28 appearances last term, and also lifted the KNVB Cup with AZ.

Nuno is desperate to add more goal threat to his team ready for a gruelling Championship campaign, and he clearly thinks Parrott fits the bill.

According to Dutch outlet Voetbal International, Parrott has already agreed to join West Ham this summer.

However, they say that Parrott is in "limbo" because the Hammers have yet to agree a fee with AZ.

West Ham have apparently had one bid rejected by AZ, who value Parrott around £15.4-£17.1million.

Parrott has a contract until 2029 with AZ, and Votbal International says that RB Leipzig have also contacted the Dutch side about the striker's availability.

So, for West Ham to progress with the deal, they will need to find an agreement with AZ on a fee.

Will West Ham get Troy Parrott deal over the line?

West Ham are clearly intent of landing Parrott this summer, but they clearly have work to do to find an agreement.

Parrott has plenty of time left on his AZ contract, so there is little incentive for the Dutch side to lower their asking price.

If West Ham want to proceed with a transfer then simply they are going to have to stump up the cash to get a deal done.

The Hammers have also been linked with veteran striker Jamie Vardy, who is available on a free transfer, so Nuno clearly wants to see more goals added to this team.

With Parrott, if feels like a case of "watch this space", but the player himself clearly seems intent on moving to the London Stadium.
