West Ham United are still monitoring their youth talent past the summer transfer deadline.

The Hammers had big decisions to make with several youngsters this summer, but the club have remained keen to give some a chance in the first team.

The likes of Lewis Orford, Ollie Scarles, Finlay Herrick, Josh Ajala and Airidas Golambeckis have been trusted by Nuno Espirito Santo so far this campaign.

This saw the Irons make fewer signings in the summer than some may have initially expected, but with Jarrod Bowen and other key players staying put, the club felt they had an appropriate balance of everything.

Though West Ham have completed all their senior business until the January window opens, there is still a way they can do transfer dealings.

That is through their youth academy, as Tommy Goodger looks set to leave the club on loan.

What we know as West Ham agree exit for 'highly rated' Tommy Goodger

As reported by West Ham Way on Friday, West Ham have agreed a short-term loan for Goodger to join Brentwood Town.

The 17-year-old is said to be "highly rated" at Rush Green for his commitment and maturity, and can go straight into Brentwood's lineup on Saturday.

The Isthmian Premier Division side face Aveley in the FA Cup, and it's understood the goalkeeper will go straight into the Blues' squad.

West Ham are hoping the short-term move will prove to be a valuable one for the young shot-stopper.

Brentwood are currently at rock bottom in the Isthmian Premier Division with three points from seven games, but Goodger will not have to deal with any potential relegation this season.

West Ham are able to sanction the loan exit of their youth players outside of the window when sending a youngster out to join a non-league side.

How Goodger has performed for U18s this season

Goodger is still young and has yet to play for West Ham's U21s side.

He's featured for the U18s in the past three seasons, and has been hoping to impose himself as a regular starter this campaign.

His loan move may only help him do that, as it won't be long before he returns back to Rush Green.

The Englishman has played four times in the U18s Premier League this campaign, but has conceded 13 goals.

That most likely says more about the defence in front of him than his own goalkeeping skills.
