What does West Ham's hunt for Anthony Musaba tell us about Nuno's transfer plans?
West Ham United are reportedly among a number of English clubs tracking Fenerbahce winger Anthony Musaba.
The Hammers are in the process of reshaping their squad following their relegation from the Premier League last season.
Mateus Fernandes, 21, is on the cusp of joining Tottenham in an £85million transfer, with Spurs beating off competition from Manchester United.
The sale of the Portuguese ace should help balance the books a little after the Irons' demotion to the second tier.
Others could leave too, with Crysencio Summerville and captain Jarrod Bowen both linked with the exit door.
However, West Ham are also looking at potential incomings to Nuno Espirito Santo's squad, and Musaba's name has cropped us a player of interest to the Hammers.
Who else is interested in West Ham target Anthony Musaba?
Dutch winger Musaba is no stranger to English football having spent two seasons with Sheffield Wednesday.
The Owls cashed in last summer amid financial woes, with Musaba moving to Samsunspor in Turkey.
Just six months later he would joined 19-time Super Lig champions Fenerbahce, with whom he won the Turkish Super Cup.
However, he is once again seemingly on the move, with Dutch outlet Soccernews.nl stating that sources have told them West Ham are among the clubs interested in Musaba.
West Ham could face competition for his signature, though, as Premier League new boys Hull City and Wolves - relegated along with West Ham last term - also named among his suitors.
Are West Ham making contingency plans for more exits?
While Fernandes has already left, there are others who could leave the Hammers too.
Summerville has been attracting interest from Manchester United, while Aston Villa and Paris Saint-Germain have also been named as potential suitors.
Captain Bowen is also being linked with a move away, with Everton and Villa among those who have been named as interested parties.
The links to Musaba tell us that West Ham's transfer plans might be being built around finding potential replacements in their forward line.
With West Ham also said to be in the race to sign Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu, it certainly seems like that is the case.
