West Ham will be offered chance to sign Chelsea forward Armando Broja
West Ham United will reportedly be offered the opportunity to bring in Chelsea forward Armando Broja this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.
The report by Nathan Ridley [24 May] details how Broja is one of six targets for Hammers technical director Tim Steidten, who is working alongside new head coach Julen Lopetegui to reassemble the squad following the conclusion of the David Moyes era.
Recruitment is progressing fast at the London Stadium, as the club are on the verge of capturing Brazil defender Fabricio Bruno from Flamengo, with Lopetegui also keen to reunite with Wolves’ Max Kilman for up to £45m [Guardian].
Attacking reinforcements are likely to be paramount with Lucas Paqueta at the centre of an alleged betting controversy, Michail Antonio at 34 with a year left on his deal, Divin Mubama set to leave as a free agent, and the club open to selling Danny Ings.
Talisman Jarrod Bowen is on the radar of Newcastle United [Telegraph], and losing the England man would be an almighty blow.
Would Broja be a good fit for West Ham?
Broja has been shown to be a persistent, mentally resilient young forward with an attitude that makes him easily coachable, even if he is far from the finished article.
The Albanian international made 21 Premier League appearances this term – 13 for Chelsea, with eight coming on loan at Fulham. He scored just once, but has recovered from horrific injury issues and is still just 22.

It remains to be seen whether Lopetegui and Steidten are overly convinced by Broja, but managerless Chelsea are looking to trim certain parts of their squad and see the attacker as surplus to requirements.
If Broja were to become a West Ham player this summer, he may initially get playing time whilst the club shape their squad and fine-tune their options, and could represent an asset with appreciating value if he stays fit.
But with the money expected to be invested into the squad, the Hammers may be looking for a more proven Premier League or European striker to hit the ground running.
