West Ham want to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz
West Ham want to sign Blackburn Rovers star Ben Brereton Diaz, according to talkSPORT.
Brereton Diaz, 22, has scored 17 goals in 22 championship games for Blackburn this season, and journalist Alex Crook, speaking to Jim White via talkSPORT on Wednesday (15 December), claims the Irons are in the race for his signature.
White said: “Now Alex, big interest we understand this lunchtime in a Championship player, what have you got?”
Crook: “His name is Ben Brereton Diaz.
“We understand he is attracting interest from the likes of Leeds and West Ham in the Premier League.”

Born in Stoke-on-Trent, Brereton Diaz qualifies for Chile through his mother and made his debut for the South America nation earlier this year, featuring and scoring at the Copa America tournament during the summer.
He has taken his form into the 2021/22 campaign, with his Championship tally bettered only by Fulham’s Aleksandr Mitrovic, who has 22 goals.
The Blackburn forward’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season but the Lancashire club have the option to extend it, so he may not come cheap.
However, West Ham can surely tempt them into a January sale with an offer in the region of £15-20million.
Given his age and profile, that’s a fee that looks sensible, and he would provide Michail Antonio with stiff competition in attack, while he has also featured out wide for Rovers.
David Moyes has had prior success in the Championship market with the likes of Said Benrahma (Brentford) and Jarrod Bowen (Hull City).
In other West Ham news, a journalist claims this Premier League centre-back will snub Newcastle for the Irons in January.
