West Ham United would consider bids in excess of £12m for Manuel Lanzini – ExWHUemployee

West Ham will demand at least £12m for midfielder Manuel Lanzini, who is attracting interest from Turkish clubs according to ExWHUemployee.

The Argentine midfielder has entered the final year of his contract at the London Stadium after joining in an initial loan deal from UAE based club Al Jazira in 2015.

But while his performances for the Hammers under David Moyes have attracted interest from abroad, the Hammers aren’t interested in letting him leave unless they receive a substantial offer.

The club are planning to offer the 29-year-old a new contract once the transfer window closes, as is the plan with other players like Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen.

West Ham won’t even consider bids below £12m this summer and with the midfield situation needing to be strengthened as it is, they’d need convincing to sell regardless.

Fan favourite

Lanzini has immersed himself in the culture at West Ham ever since he joined the club, running hard and providing energy and creativity to everything.

He always gives 100% and that’s why the fans absolutely love him, so seeing him go from that point of view wouldn’t be fun.

But when you look at the squad and it’s current state, it would be a surprise to see him leave anyway without new additions coming in, because midfield is an area the club is desperately short in.

Declan Rice is sure of his place and Flynn Downes has just joined, but Soucek’s future is up in the air while Mark Noble retired and Alex Kral was allowed to leave when his loan expired.

Lanzini is capable of playing a central midfield role as well as across the three positions behind the striker, and that versatility is a key attribute for him and Moyes.

A key member of the squad and popular with the crowd, here’s hoping a new contract can be agreed rather than a transfer away.
