West Ham United transfer update emerges for Euro 2024 defender David Hancko

West Ham, Aston Villa and Liverpool are all keen on securing the services of Feyenoord and Slovakia defender David Hancko, according to HITC.

The news outlet reported on 20 June that Atletico Madrid are understood to be the frontrunners to sign him and are most advanced in talks with him, according to sources.

Any deal to sign the 26-year-old this summer will be worth £25million and Liverpool are not expected to make an imminent offer for the centre-back.

David Hancko could be a vital addition to the West Ham side

Hancko could be an excellent signing for the Hammers this summer.

At 26, he is entering his prime and has already shown his quality in the Netherlands with Feyenoord.

The Slovakian is a versatile defender who can play as a left-sided centre-back or left-back, which would provide West Ham with much-needed depth and flexibility in their backline.

Moreover, Hancko’s potential transfer fee of £25million is relatively affordable for a club of the calibre of the Irons.

This makes him a more attainable target compared to other high-profile defenders in the market.

His performances at Euro 2024 could further increase his value, making it a smart move for the London club to secure his services now before his price potentially rises.

While no deal is expected to be completed for the defender before the tournament ends, the least they can do is get in touch with his representatives as well as Feyenoord.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to secure the free transfer of a player who’s set to leave a Premier League club this month.
