West Ham United stance on Trevoh Chalobah transfer shared amid Newcastle United update

West Ham United are ready to go “head to head” with Newcastle United for the signing of Nathaniel Chalobah, according to Give Me Sport.

The outlet reported on its website on Wednesday (24 July) that the Hammers have joined the Magpies and Manchester United in the race for the Chelsea defender after developments at Stamford Bridge.

Sources suggest Julen Lopetegui and Eddie Howe’s sides have been placed on “red alert” after it was confirmed the Englishman would not be included in the Blues’ squad for their pre-season tour of the USA.

Enzo Maresca’s side are believed to be ready to cash in on Chalobah this summer and will be willing to sell him for a fee in the region of £30million.

Chalobah however is in no rush to exit Stamford Bridge and will only do so if the right opportunity presents itself before the transfer window slams shut.

Will Nathaniel Chalobah exit Chelsea amid West Ham transfer speculation?

The Hammers were always going to be interested in Chalobah after recent events at Stamford Bridge, but it will be interesting to see whether or not they have what it takes to win the race for his signature.

Although he appears to be being pushed out of the club, the Chelsea defender doesn’t appear to be in a rush to depart and it remains to be seen whether or not the project at the London Stadium is appealing to him.

Tim Steidten and Julen Lopetegui will have to sell the Englishman their project to convince him West Ham is the right fit for him ahead of a move to Manchester United or even Newcastle.

Hopefully, their transfer business in the early stages of the transfer window is evidence enough that they’re looking to return to European football, with several high-profile additions already made.

Ultimately, the final decision will lie with Chalobah himself, but the Hammers just have to do all that they can to put themselves in the best position possible to get their man.
