West Ham United ready six new transfers as Max Kilman deal lined up at London Stadium

West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui wants to bring defender Max Kilman to the London Stadium from former club Wolves, according to The Sun.

The arrival of the new Hammers boss, who was in the dugout at Molineux for the 2022-23 season, has seen the club reignite their interest in Kilman, who Wolves value at around £45million.

Kilman featured on 24 occasions under Lopetegui during their time together in the Black Country, and that puts West Ham in pole position to secure a reunion.

The Irons’ squad is set for a huge overhaul in the summer transfer window, with six new signings likely as Tim Steidten gets to work already.

West Ham hope to make statement Kilman signing

West Ham are wasting no time in their pursuit of targets to give Lopetegui the squad he wants for the start of next season, with defence arguably the area which needs the most attention.

Angelo Ogbonna will likely leave the club at the end of his contract, as will utility player Ben Johnson, and Nayef Aguerd was out of favour for some time under previous manager David Moyes.

Signing a striker is one of Julen Lopetegui’s main priorities at West Ham this summer

Both Vladimir Coufal and Aaron Cresswell have activated one-year extensions to their deals, but Lopetegui is still left with a defensive roster which needs improvement in the coming months.

Brazilian centre-back Fabricio Bruno is reportedly set to become the Hammers’ first signing of the Lopetegui era, but adding Kilman from a fellow Premier League side would be a huge statement of intent.

This is certainly one that is growing legs with Wolves said to be in need of cash and David Sullivan clearly ready to back Lopetegui already.

In other West Ham news, a decision is due today as the Hammers close in on a new transfer.
