West Ham United ready second bid for Wesley Gassova transfer after new update

West Ham United are preparing a second bid for Wesley Gassova after their first bid earlier in the month was rejected, according to Matteo Moretto.

The journalist has reported (23 May) that Corinthians rejected the Hammers’ initial approach but they haven’t been disheartened.

Gassova is being looked at by various European clubs with Manchester United and Atletico Madrid showing an interest.

Despite the links to these two clubs, “no negotiation” has been made meaning West Ham are the only club to have tabled a bid so far.

West Ham United to prepare second Wesley Gassova bid

The most recent reports about Gassova have suggested that Crystal Palace are showing an interest in the Brazilian this summer.

With Moretto suggesting interest from Man Utd and Atletico now, it seems as if this was just a move from his agents to force the Hammers into moving quickly.

West Ham have held an interest in the youngster for many weeks now which has been realised by an opening offer.

The 19-year-old would bring a point of difference to the London Stadium and could prove to be useful under Julen Lopetegui.

Gassova is useful with the ball at his feet and dribbling at his marker with that traditional flair of a Brazilian winger from years gone by.

He will certainly take time to get used to the Premier League in terms of physicality and defensive work rate which wingers now need to have.

With a new bid being prepared, it is clear that Tim Steidten and Lopetegui aren’t messing around this summer.

In other West Ham news, MLS and Saudi clubs want to sign this Hammers star attacker.
