West Ham United now want Chelsea forward Chukwuemeka in late double deal with Soler
West Ham United are interested in signing Chelsea forward Carney Chukwuemeka on loan, according to Jacob Steinberg.
Writing via The Guardian’s live transfer blog (12:05 pm, 30 August), Steinberg reported that the Chelsea youngster is keen for more playing opportunities.
Tim Steidten, the club’s sporting director, is a huge fan of Chukwuemeka.
It comes as the Hammers have agreed a deal in principle with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Carlos Soler on loan with an option to make the transfer permanent.
West Ham United to sign Chelsea forward Carney Chukwuemeka?
It seems as if the Hammers aren’t quite done in the transfer market. Despite there only being a matter of hours remaining in the transfer window, Julen Lopetegui’s side are still exploring potential opportunities.
Therefore, the Argentine is bound to be delighted as the club continues looking to add options to his first-team squad at the London Stadium.
Soler is on his way to London for a medical with West Ham (via Fabrizio Romano, 30 August), and many supporters would have been delighted if that was all the club did on deadline day.
However, it seems as though a late deal could now be on the cards for Chukwuemeka.
The 20-year-old is an exciting, talented young player who will be keen to prove himself. Therefore, a move to the London Stadium could be beneficial for the player.
However, time is running out in the transfer window. As a result, it might be tough for the Hammers to get this deal, as well as a deal for Soler, across the line.
