West Ham United make enquiry to sign long-term target Adam Hlozek from Bayer Leverkusen
West Ham have made contact with Bayer Leverkusen about trying to sign long-term target Adam Hlozek, according to 90min.
Writing on their official website (23 October), the news outlet report that the Czech Republic striker has been subject to an enquiry by the Hammers ahead of a potential January transfer.
West Ham wanted to sign him two summers ago under the recommendation of Daniel Kretinsky, but David Moyes passed and he moved to Leverkusen instead with Tim Steidten striking a deal and now the technical director could look to do it again to bring him to east London.

“Long-term targets Hugo Ekitike and Adam Hlozek also remain high on their transfer radar, and potential loan deals in January make them an appealing options as West Ham are also seeking to strengthen in defence and midfield,” they wrote.
“Hlozek, meanwhile, was a target of West Ham’s prior to his move to Bundesliga table-toppers Bayer Leverkusen, and an enquiry has been made about the availability of the powerful 21-year-old.”
Talent
Hlozek has always been a very talented footballer and the quality he had was clear even two years ago when West Ham were linked with a move to him a few years ago.
But he was still very raw and it would have been a big gamble to try and sign him for the role of main striker at the London Stadium, because that is what we were desperate for.

However now he has physically developed more and is far more used to playing at the highest level, and he has come on leaps and bounds under Xabi Alonso’s management in recent months.
He now looks ready to be that man and Steidten will know him really well from their time together in Germany, so there is already a relationship there to get a deal done.
We know Kretinsky loves him, and if Moyes’ mind has been changed on the type of job that Hlozek can do then we could be in for yet another really exciting talent coming to east London in a deal to improve our front line.
In other West Ham news, duo could leave London Stadium in 2024 as Steidten plots transfer replacements.
