West Ham United line up move to sign Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr ahead of Newcastle United
West Ham are readying a move to sign Watford forward Ismaila Sarr with Andriy Yarmolenko leaving the London Stadium, according to the Sunday People.
The newspaper reported via their print edition on 12 June (page 61) that Senegal international Sarr, 24, “could be on his way to the London Stadium if the right offer comes in”.
It is understood that Watford want around £25million for the former Rennes and Metz winger, who’s more likely to join West Ham than Newcastle amid links to St James’ Park.
Good signing
Sarr may have been relegated with Watford but there are some decent players who club can pick up when teams go down to the Championship.
Sarr has been an ever-present for Watford since 2019 and in the 2021/22 season, he scored five goals and supplied two assists in 22 Premier League appearances for the Vicarage Road club.

The winger, who can play on the right or left-hand side of the attack, even scored one of his goals against Manchester United when Watford hammered the Red Devils 4-1 back in November.
Injuries hampered Sarr from that game onwards and he played just 10 times in the top-flight between 20 November and the campaign finishing.
Hopefully, if West Ham do sign him, he’s over the worst of those injury issues because David Moyes squad is in desperate need of quality and strength in depth.
Yarmolenko never really offered us a consistently good option on the wing.
Although he scored some big goals, the Ukraine international was ultimately a failed signing and his exit paves the way for a quality new winger to come in.
Sarr can be just that.
In other West Ham news, a medical has been scheduled for this player to join the Hammers in just over a week.
