West Ham United ignored intermediaries of Mergim Berisha when they were offered the striker, according to TBR Football.

The news outlet reported (16 January) that the Hammers are not interested in the Hoffenheim forward, despite their willingness to dispense with Berisha.

Florian Plettenberg reported earlier that Graham Potter's side had turned down the chance to enter talks with Berisha, but it now appears they did not even entertain a response.

The Irons are continuing to scour the transfer market for attacking targets with an injury crisis affecting Potter, though it looks as if the two-cap German international will not be on their radar anytime soon.

West Ham United still desperately need strikers

While West Ham are not in the market for Berisha, the hierarchy at the London Stadium is well aware of the predicament they find themselves in.

Michail Antonio may not play in claret and blue again this season, while Niclas Fullkrug has been desperately unlucky with his fitness since arriving in England, popping up with goals on the rare occasions he has been fit.

Danny Ings is the only fit out-and-out striker at Potter's disposal, though even he entered the win against Fulham on Tuesday (14 January) from the bench as Lucas Paqueta was deployed as a false nine.

Jarrod Bowen has led the line on many occasions and the Irons are hoping their talismanic captain will be back in action very soon.

In terms of incomings, the Hammers have bid for Aston Villa's Jhon Duran but are said to have fallen well short of the commanded fee of £70million at Villa Park (Sky Sports, 16 January).

Evann Guessand of Nice is also an option as negotiations remain on the cards (ExWHUemployee, 15 January), while Taiwo Awoniyi and Andre Silva could also be chased as a new forward solution.
