West Ham told to make Serhou Guirassy bid in new transfer update
West Ham United have been told they must make a bid soon for Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, according to HITC.
The Irons had hoped to quickly secure a cut-price deal for the 28-goal forward ahead of several other Premier League clubs, but it appears Borussia Dortmund have made the most progress so far.
Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham were amongst the other sides interested in bringing Guirassy to England, but the risk of Dortmund has now emerged.
The Irons confirmed Julen Lopetegui as their new head coach on 23 May, and he’ll be hoping that Dortmund’s preparation for the Champions League final next Saturday (1 June) can give his side an edge in their pursuit of the 28-year-old.
New striker hunt intensifies for West Ham United
Having officially appointed Lopetegui as their head coach, all attention at West Ham now turns to the transfer market, where there’s plenty of work to do in the coming months.
It’s little wonder that the Irons’ pursuit of Guirassy is already underway, given the dearth of attacking talent that could be left at the London Stadium come the start of pre-season training.
Centre-forward is one of the many positions in which the Hammers need to strengthen this summer, and Lopetegui has already drawn up a long list of targets.

Michail Antonio is out of contract this June, while Mohammed Kudus’ form could attract many a suitor and Jarrod Bowen is in a similar position.
Lopetegui’s reported targets so far have ranged from players he’s worked with at previous clubs, as well as younger, more raw strikers from across the continent.
Guirassy though, appears to be the number one choice for Lopetegui, and securing the free-scoring Stuttgart striker, over a potential Champions League winner no less, would represent a brilliant early coup for West Ham.
