West Ham United ready to sign Jacob Bruun Larsen in new transfer update

West Ham United are one of several clubs who want to sign Burnley loanee Jacob Bruun Larsen, according to Bold.

The Danish publication reported that the in-form Hoffenheim winger, who became Burnley’s top scorer this season with his goal against Tottenham on 11 May, could be heading to the London Stadium this summer.

Supposed new manager Julen Lopetegui has a rebuilding job ahead in the upcoming transfer window, and could add Bruun Larsen to his attacking stocks if he’s able to beat both Burnley and Everton to the 25-year-old.

Hoffenheim have received “no definite offers” yet for Bruun Larsen, but Burnley’s relegation makes it unlikely that they’ll be in a better position than clubs like West Ham to sign him on a permanent deal.

Will Jacob Bruun Larsen sign for West Ham United?

West Ham have a busy summer coming up in Lopetegui’s first transfer window at the club, with Michail Antonio out of contract and several other attacking options looking set for the exit door.

Danny Ings and Lucas Paqueta both look increasingly unlikely to be Hammers players next season, while the club also have a task on their hands to keep hold of free-scoring winger Mohammed Kudus.

As a result, it’s understandable that the Spaniard is looking to add further depth in the attacking positions, with Larsen the latest of several up-and-coming wingers to be linked with a move to the London Stadium.

West Ham
Bruun Larsen could act as a replacement for Mohammed Kudus if he leaves West Ham this summer.

The club have had mixed responses to their approaches for Jota Silva and Brazilian prospect Wesley Gassova, while Lopetegui may also be tempted to bring in a familiar face to occupy the number nine role.

However, Bruun Larsen stands out amongst those targets as the only player with a season of Premier League football under his belt, whilst wearing claret and blue no less.

His six goals in 31 Premier League appearances are just one behind the excellent Kudus, and if Lopetegui can secure an immediate return to England for the 25-year-old, he will surely improve even further in a far superior West Ham side.
