West Ham stance on Luis Guilherme revealed after bonus-heavy Tim Steidten deal

West Ham paid an initial £19.5m for Luis Guilherme but Tim Steidten also offered add-ons and a sell-on clause to Palmerias, according to West Ham Football.

The Hammers insider reported on 4 October that the club is still hopeful that the 18-year-old will come good at the London Stadium.

This comes after the Irons’ technical director forked out £19.5m plus £5.86m in potential add-ons with a 20 per cent sell-on clause for the Brazilian side.

West Ham to wait for Luis Guilherme to succeed

The Brazil Under 20 international completed a move to East London over the summer but has failed to make an impression in his limited appearances so far.

Julen Lopetegui has come under fire in recent weeks for a string of negative results in the Premier League and EFL Cup.

This has been made worse by his reluctance to utilise new signings made during the most recent window with the likes of Jean-Clair Todibo and Niclas Fullkrug struggling for regular minutes this season.

The ex-Palmerias starlet is yet to feature for the Hammers senior team this season but has made a sole appearance for the academy side.

It has to be said that West Ham are stocked in forward areas with Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville all vying for a place on the wings.

This has made a start to life in England difficult for Guilherme but it appears that Lopetegui and Co. are hopeful for his future with the club.
