West Ham ready Oleksandr Zinchenko transfer as Arsenal make multi-million demand

West Ham are one of several clubs eyeing a move for Arsenal full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The Ukrainian international has fallen down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta and thus could be on the move before the start of the Premier League season.

Zinchenko has just one year remaining on his current deal at the Emirates, meaning the Gunners must cash in now to generate a fee.

West Ham have been linked with Zinchenko before, and now news has broken about what Arsenal would demand for the former Manchester City man.

West Ham told how much to pay for Zinchenko

Graham Potter has his work cut out to turn around West Ham after an uninspiring five months in the job.

The Hammers were already struggling under Julen Lopetegui, but the Englishman has not fared any better at the London Stadium.

Strengthening the defence must be high on Potter’s agenda, given that the Irons had the sixth-worst defence in the Premier League.

West Ham have now been linked with a move for Arsenal’s Zinchenko, according to Pianeta Milan (16 June).

A host of other clubs are said to be interested in the 28-year-old, with AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, and Ajax all keen.

The Italian outlet’s London correspondent understands that Arsenal will demand £12.7million for the Ukrainian.

Furthermore, Zinchenko is estimated to earn around £4.26million a year, although he could be willing to agree to around £3million.

Zinchenko would be a smart signing for Graham Potter

Given that the Irons need to add quality at the back, signing Zinchenko would be an astute piece of business.

The left-back has played for two of the biggest clubs in the world and played under two top managers in Arteta and Pep Guardiola.

Although his impact in North London has faded, he has the experience and ability to improve West Ham.

Furthermore, Potter needs reinforcements on the left side of defence after Aaron Cresswell departed the London Stadium.

Given the stature of clubs interested in Zinchenko, he will be a tough acquisition, but he would be worth the tussle.
