West Ham gem wanted by array of European giants, silly rule could see him go in 2026

West Ham United youngster Emmanuel Fejokwu is wanted by a whole host of European heavyweights.

The 15-year-old is currently starring for West Ham at age-grade level, having played a few times already in the U18 Premier League this season.

Fejokwu is already seemingly being fast-tracked by the Hammers, but the East London side now face a battle keeping him at the club.

And while West Ham have a number of other talented youngsters among their ranks, keeping hold of Fejokwu will surely be high on their agenda.

Inter Milan and AC Milan eye West Ham talent Emmanuel Fejokwu

As per The Talent Hunter via Instagram, Inter Milan and AC Milan are two European giants keeping tabs on Fejokwu.

Eredivisie trio Ajax, PSV and Utrecht are also showing an interest, as are Club Brugge, FC Copenhagen and Bayer Leverkusen.

West Ham would usually be in a strong position due to regulations in place to protect academy players, but Fejokwu’s situation is slightly different.

That is due to the teenager also holding a Dutch passport, meaning he is eligible to move to a club abroad once he turns 16 in 2026.

Fejokwu, who is also catching the eyes of unnamed English clubs, has previously represented both England and the Netherlands at U16 level.

What do we know about West Ham talent Fejokwu?

Fejokwu’s main position for West Ham’s U18s has been at right-back, with his 238 minutes of league action coming there this season.

The defender, who turns 16 in April, is locked at the centre of an international tug-of-war between England and Netherlands as both want him to represent them.

While Fejokwu has time on his side to decide his international allegiance – he needs to be capped at senior level for that to happen – his club future is perhaps more pressing.

Fejokwu was born in the Netherlands but moved to England at an early age, hence why he can play for either country.

A separate report suggests those close to Fejokwu believe he would benefit from playing for a Dutch club, where youngsters are given a quicker path to the first team.

However, on the basis of the teen talent already playing a few years above his age, West Ham clearly have plans to do similar at the London Stadium.
