West Ham eye Emmanuel Latte Lath as Middlesbrough transfer update emerges
West Ham United sent a delegation to monitor Middlesbrough forward Emmanuel Latte Lath ahead of the January transfer window, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.
According to the Italian journalist [24 November], Hammers scouts were in attendance to watch the 25-year-old score a hattrick in the 6-2 win against Oxford United on Saturday (23 November).
Latte Lath began his career in the Serie A with Atalanta before switching to the Championship last year and is believed to be ready to take the next step in his career.
The Irons are said to hold an interest as they gear up for the January transfer window.
Julen Lopetegui wants a new forward at West Ham United
Julen Lopetegui is fighting for his life in East London and believes bolstering the forward line will help improve his fortunes at West Ham.
The Sunday Mirror reported on 24 November that the Spaniard wants the Hammers to move for Fenerbahce forward Youssef En-Nesyri and believes the Moroccan could provide the firepower he needs to save his job.
However, upon reports entailing Niclas Fullkrug could be set for an abrupt end to his Premier League career, Tim Steidten would be best served exercising caution in this endeavour.
The Irons are believed to have lost patience with the German as he continues his rehabilitation, while Steidten has also come into the firing line in recent weeks.
Moving on Fullkrug for a new forward is nothing but an admission of guilt that Steidten failed the Hammers in his summer exploits.

If a new striker is a priority in East London, a move for Latte Lath is the ideal solution, as he could provide much-needed depth in the forward line without the demands of becoming an immediate first-team regular.
Michael Carrick will be hoping his hat-trick on the weekend is a sign of things to come, and the West Ham delegation present for the display will undoubtedly return to the capital with a glowing recommendation.
The two-cap Ivory Coast international has scored seven goals and added two assists in 16 Championship outings, and if he continues on this path, a move to the Premier League is certainly not out of the question.
