West Ham drop subtle hint about Callum Wilson's future amid transfer talk
West Ham United may have revealed the future of Callum Wilson after his contract expiry.
The 34-year-old put up some positive numbers in claret and blue after his free transfer introduction.
He scored seven goals in the Premier League, despite only featuring from the start 11 times.
That came despite a mid-season link to potentially cutting his time at the London Stadium short.
The Englishman obviously stuck around and saw out the season when his one year deal came to an end.
West Ham now appear to have now all-but confirmed Wilson's future in a very subtle way.
West Ham website changes don't include Callum Wilson
There have been largely mixed reviews of the striker and his willingness to stay in E20 throughout his time in claret and blue.
That has continued into the summer, even with his contract officially coming to an end when July began.
There has been no confirmation of his departure at this stage, with his name missing from the retained list on 10 June.
Adama Traore, Lukasz Fabianski and Axel Disasi all featured in that and have now been removed from the West Ham website's squad list.
Wilson remains on there alongside the rest of the remaining players, which may point towards a stay, despite transfer links elsewhere.
What's next for West Ham and Wilson?
With the Irons now in the Championship, the ex-Newcastle man's future was always going to be up in the air.
His future doesn't appear to be totally confirmed at the London Stadium based on the website.
That could see him potentially pen a new contract with the Hammers, although a move elsewhere could still be possible.
Ben Jacobs reported in late June that Brentford are considering making a contract offer to sign Wilson on a free transfer.
He is assessing his options but seemingly wants to stay in England at this stage of his career.
The striker could end up with the Bees, while the Nuno Espirito Santo and Co. look to bring in another striker option.
There are now more questions than answers about the number nine and what could come next at West Ham.
