West Ham: Donyell Malen has already spoken about playing with Crysencio Summerville as Roma move looms
West Ham United could afford Crysencio Summerville the chance to link up with Donyell Malen at Roma.
The 24-year-old has been strongly linked with a London Stadium exit after relegation was confirmed on the final day.
A positive campaign from the attacking midfielder has caught the eye and now a summer move looks likely.
The Serie A giants have emerged as one of the front runners to land his signature after previously showcasing interest in January.
They are yet to complete a deal, but it does appear that a switch to the Italian capital is being prepared for the coming weeks.
Summerville has already garnered positive reviews from Roma star Malen, with the pair potentially set to play together at club level when the new season begins.
Donyell Malen already impressed by Roma target Summerville
The former Aston Villa man has very recently sealed a permanent move to Stadio Olimpico from Villa Park.
He was absolutely electric on loan with the Giallorossi and after 17 goal involvements in 20 games, his stay has been extended.
That will see the 27-year-old return to Roma after the World Cup, as he prepares to feature for the Netherlands.
The same can be said of Summerville who landed a surprise call-up from Ronald Koeman.
Both featured against Algeria on 3 June with Malen speaking about West Ham man after the warm up friendly clash.
He said: "He's a dangerous striker, he made some good dribbles and we managed to break through a couple of times. The pass he directed to me was a little off target, but that's the kind of play he can make."
It seems there is already a relationship there between the two, one that could tip the scales towards a move going through this summer.
Roma could land Crysencio Summerville as asking price drops at West Ham
There was always going to be firm interest in the Hammers star after a step up in the calendar year of 2026.
Relegation to the Championship has sparked an influx as it feels unlikely that the ex-Leeds United man will play in the second tier again.
A report from Italian outlet Il Messaggero outlined that Roma have made Summerville their top forward target for the summer.
Gian Piero Gasperini's side were put off by the Irons' £35million asking price in January, but will be happy to learn that demand has now dropped to £25m.
There is a clear desire to sign the winger, something which will only be amplified by the existing link to Malen.
