West Ham agree deal with PSG for Carlos Soler, medical Friday afternoon – Fabrizio Romano

Carlos Soler is set to join West Ham from Paris Saint-Germain on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist reported via X (30 August) that the deal is “Here we go!”

West Ham will cover Soler’s entire salary as part of the agreement, with a buy option included in the deal.

The midfielder is travelling to London to undergo a medical with the club. James Ward-Prowse is heading to Nottingham Forest on loan in a separate deal.

Carlos Soler set to join West Ham United from Paris Saint-Germain

This is an incredibly exciting end to the transfer window for West Ham and supporters at the London Stadium.

It has been a hugely impressive couple of months in terms of incomings, and brand-new boss Julen Lopetegui is unlikely to have any complaints.

It appears as though the club have done more or less everything he has asked for, with this latest transfer saga being another example of that.

Lopetegui was obviously not a fan of Ward-Prowse, with a player like Soler more aligned with his footballing ideas.

Therefore, with just hours left of the transfer window, West Ham have gone ahead and let Ward-Prowse go while bringing in Soler more or less at the same time.

That is a clear message that they are fully behind their brand-new manager. Ward-Prowse was a David Moyes signing.

As a result of his exit from the club, it is another reminder that times are changing.

In other West Ham news, one player is yet to give his green light ahead of a deadline day exit.
